Oilers down Eagles 8-2 (Exclusive MaxLaxOC.com Video)

logo_OilersThe Huntington Beach Oilers used a five-goal second half to down the Santa Margarita Eagles 8-2 on Thursday afternoon. MaxLaxOC.com was there and got all of the highlights.


The tone for the game was set at the opening faceoff when Oiler Sean Mastro (10/12 on faceoffs) cleanly won the draw, rumbled down the field and dished off to Anders Davis who beat Griffin Rockey cleanly with a right handed shot. Michael Senecal tied the game about 4 minutes later with an unassisted goal. The Eagles hung tough and remained tied until about the four minute mark of the second quarter when HB’s Alex Kowalski went coast to coast and put the Oilers up 2-1. The game was never close after that as HB closed out the half up 3-1 and then put 5 more on the scoreboard in the second half. Taylor Reffice and Alex Kowalski scored two goals each for HB. Wes Schuler scored the Eagles other goal. Rockey and HB’s Trevor Jackson were outstanding goal, entertaining the crowd with some spectular saves.

Santa Margarita is now 3-7 as they prepare for Servite on April 6. The Oilers continue their climb up the rankings with a 7-1 record. Huntington Beach plays Trabuco Hills on April 2.
