OC United Black Reps OC in PLF

Fresh off a tournament championship at the Battle of LA, the OC United Black headed to San Diego this weekend to play in the girls’ High School Elite Division of the Pacific Lacrosse Festival.  Black is the most experienced of the five girls’ lacrosse teams OC United is fielding this summer.

OC United entered the Battle for L.A. shorthanded with a roster of only 14 players, and despite a one-sided loss to OC rivals Cilantro on the first day of the tournament, everyone on the roster stepped on Day 2 to avenge the loss and bring home the championship.  Coach Brian Eisneberg said “Both of our goalies, Hannah Sanders (Newport Harbor) and Campbell Poe (Los Al) played phenomenally.  OC UNITED Black Head Coach Dan Kirkpatrick (Chapman University Head Coach) really set the tone for the defense and the girls stepped up big.”

Sophia Silane (Woodbridge), Kendall Derbyshire (Trabuco Hills), Lauren Kilger (Foothill), and Brianna Covey (Los Al) all stood out on defense.  Rylie Siegfried controlled draws throughout the weekend

United Black faces a tough opening day at the PLF with games against West Coast Starz 2016s. a regional team that draws player from the entire west coast, and the Pacific Falcons, one of the top clubs in Southern California.
