St. Margaret’s was the unanimous choice for No. 1 in the MaxLaxOC pre-season coaches poll.  The Tartans garnered all 13 first place votes.

The Tartans rolled to an 18-1 record and the Southern Section championship last season while going undefeated against OC competition.  The return of three All-County first-teamers will help to offset the graduation loss of Player of the Year Cailin Young.

Mater Dei, the other finalist in last year’s OC championship game, was the popular choice for No.2 with nine of the 13 votes cast for that position.  The Monarchs finished last season with a 15-7 record.

Foothill checked in at No. 3.  Santa Margarita edged out Trabuco Hills by the narrowest of margins for the cleanup position.
