Oaks Christian Remains Unbeaten with 2OT Win at West Ranch

Junior Cort Rogers found sophomore Mike Spaeth on an extra-man opportunity with a minute left in the second overtime Friday, and Spaeth’s outside rip lifted No. 8 Oaks Christian past host No. 16 West Ranch 4-3.

The Lions, who trailed 3-2 entering the fourth quarter, survived their closest decision yet in improving to 6-0 on the season. West Ranch fell to 3-4, with all four losses coming against teams ranked in the Top 20.

Spaeth, whose fourth-quarter goal sent the game to overtime, led Oaks Christian with two goals, and Nate Lenthall and Lorenzo Santor each scored one. Cort Rogers had two assists, and Santor had one.

Oaks Christian now enters Marmonte League play with road games this week at Thousand Oaks and Agoura. West Ranch plays at Village Christian on Tuesday, then travels to face No. 17 El Segundo on Friday.
