Freshman Nina McInerny scored five goals to power a young Oaks Christian squad to a 13-2 victory over visiting Dos Pueblos in the Lions’ season opener Wednesday.
McInerny led an offensive barrage that featured six freshmen and sophomores contributing 16 points, including 12 of the team’s 13 goals.
Sophomores Nathalie Garcia (3g, 1a), Sydney Vroman (2g), Emily Spaeth (2a) and freshman Rocky Masci (1g, 1a) each had multiple points, and sophomore Tyler Bartlett and junior Courtney Vils each scored one goal.
Oaks Christian, in their second season under head coach KC Weidhass (formerly KC Emerson), play at Notre Dame on Friday.
