Notre Dame Pulls Away From Maryland in Front of PCS Sellout

No. 1 Notre Dame scored five late goals to pull away from Maryland 9-4 in front of a sellout crowd of 6,970 at the third annual Pacific Coast Shootout at Orange Coast College last night. Mikey Wynne scored a pair of unassisted goals (the first coming at the 5:22 mark of the fourth quarter) to break a 4-4 tie and then with Maryland going all-out to try and create turnovers, the Irish added three more goals in the final minute of the game, two of them empty-netters, to wrap up the victory. For Southern California fans the game was highlighted by the appearances of Hugh Crance (Corona del Mar), Edwin Glazener (Bishop’s School), and Chris Carter (Torrey Pines) on the Notre Dame defense, and Lucas Gradinger’s (Torrey Pines) goal for Maryland.
