Northwood rebounded from their first league loss on Monday to defeat Irvine 9-1 on Monday. Raiden Huang, pictured above, keyed a shutdown defensive effort that limited Irvine to just six shots on goal. Huang recovered four groundballs and caused a turnover. Goalie Marcus Redman stopped five of those six shots for an impressive save percentage of 83.3%.
As has been the formula all season, Jason Venezia (4g, 3gb) and Michael Bellas (4g, 3gb) led the Northwood offense. Vincent Li also found the back of the net. The three-headed face off monster of Karel Wiensz, Andrew Bauer, and Ayden MacLeod helped the Timberwolves dominate possession by winning 8 of 11.
Next up: Northwood (7-6; 5-1) plays University (2-11; 0-6) on Monday. Irvine (3-6; 2-4) plays Woodbridge (5-4; 4-2) on Monday.
