Tustin’s Noah Sharpe is the Athlete’s Choice Workhorse of the Week

Tustin High School senior Noah Sharpe has been selected as the Athlete’s Choice Workhorse of the Week, both for his commitment to improving individually and his leadership in trying to improve conditions for his Tillers teammates.

Sharpe, a three-sport athlete who participates in the school’s lacrosse and golf teams as well as becoming a team captain for the Newport Outrigger 19-and-under canoe club team, recently sent an email to US Lacrosse seeking help for the Tustin program. The email cited a lack of equipment, uniforms and poor practice-field conditions.

Sharpe’s email concluded: “My team would be so blessed if you can help us become the amazing lacrosse team I think we can be.”

Nick Tintle of Athlete’s Choice contacted Sharpe after learning of the situation at Tustin. Between the email to US Lacrosse, which circulated through Orange County lacrosse circles, and personal requests, Sharpe’s dedication to improving his program was duly noted, and he was nominated for Workhorse of the Week.

“I am actually surprised that I have been nominated as Workhorse of the Week,” Sharpe said. “I have only known Nick for a total of five days now, and that is because I originally reached out for him to help fund our Tustin lacrosse team.”

Tintle has put together a RELAX preseason equipment drive for Tustin boys lacrosse and plans to attend some Tustin practices to help train the team for the season and beyond.

“I also personally bought 25 full sticks from StringKing that I will donate to their program,” Tintle said.

Noah Sharpe hopes his team’s partnership with Tintle and Athlete’s Choice will inspire other struggling programs to strive for greatness.

“I hope I can inspire other lacrosse players to be the best they can be,” Sharpe said.
