Santa Margarita Catholic High School rebounded from a disappointing 2013 to finish 2014 with a 12-7 record as the sixth-ranked team in the Southern Section. The Eagles have the talent and the focus to carry last year’s success into 2015 and beyond. Led by captains Nico Houser (Wagner), Lucas Mullarkey, and Eric Rubak (Bellarmine), the Eagles enter 2015 with an impressive mixture of youth and experience on both ends of the field.
Houser, a senior midfielder will lead a balanced offense that will have defensive coordinators scratching their heads over which scoring threat to focus on. Houser with his size and speed is a threat to take it to the cage at any time. Junior Logan Dochterman will round out the first line midfield with freshman Quentin Buchman. Dochterman brings impressive skills and a high lacrosse IQ to his third year of varsity play. Buchman has been very impressive in the offseason.
Other players to watch this year are LSM/defenseman David Fice, CJ Deal on defense, goalie Max Vought, middie Michael Flint, and faceoff specialist Billy Senecal.
