No. 5 Oaks Christian Opens with 14-3 Victory

Coming off the best season in the program’s history, No. 5 Oaks Christian opened the new season Wednesday with a dominant 14-3 victory over No. 16 West Ranch, serving notice that 2018 might be even better.

Junior middie sparked the Lions, scoring three goals in the first period as Oaks Christian jumped to a 6-1 lead. According to the West Ranch Twitter feed, the Wildcats took a three-minute penalty for an illegal stick, and the Lions capitalized in building their lead.

Oaks extended the lead to 9-2 at halftime and was up 10-3 heading to the fourth quarter.

Spaeth (5 goals, 2 assists) and senior attack (4g, 4a) led the scoring barrage, with offensive contributions from sophomore attack (2g), junior middie Campbell (1g, 2a), senior middie Spencer Lewis (1g), freshman attack (1g) and senior defender Paul Ginziger (1a).
