No. 4 Santa Margarita Cruises in Season Opener

Wet and rainy conditions didn’t stop No. 4  as they began their 2018 campaign with a dominant 16-5 victory over El Toro (0-4) on Friday.

led the Eagles with a dominant five-point performance (4G, 1A), and began the season looking like his usual self with four goals of his own.  contributed a great performance as well and notched a hat trick (3G, 1A).

(1G, 2A), (2G), (1G), (1G), and (1A) rounded out the point totals offensively for Santa Margarita, who as a team had 43 shots. Ross’ goal was his first ever on the varsity level.

In his debut at FOGO, won 14 of 24 faceoffs and also had four ground balls.

El Toro’s team and individual statistics were not made available as of this stories publication.

The Chargers will look to get in the win column for the first time this season but will have to do it on the road Tuesday against Mission Viejo. Meanwhile, the Eagles (1-0) square off with Trabuco Hills (1-0) in a road contest on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
