Eight players scored for No. 4 Peninsula on Wednesday, as the Panthers improved to 9-1 with a 16-5 win over visiting Foothill-Pleasanton, from the East Bay area of Northern California. Although it took the Panthers a quarter to fully power up, they gained serious momentum after the half.
Seniors Brandon Wilson (4 goals, 2 assists) and Caleb Smith (3 goals, 1 assist) led the scoring, with senior Colton Michel scoring two goals and, in a strong show of teamwork, contributing a whopping 6 assists. Junior Koby Tseng and sophomore Kyle Beachboard each contributed 2 goals and 1 assist. Senior Grant Geiger and junior Kurt Landon (pictured, above) each scored a goal for the Panthers. Junior Emilio Nunziati, a newcomer to the varsity squad, recorded a goal and an assist.
Lance Plonski once again anchored the game for the Panthers, registering 18 saves.
Peninsula returns to the field next week with a trip to Culver City to face the No. 18 Centaurs, then it’s Bay League play: Six consecutive league games down the stretch.
