Second-ranked Westlake led St. Margaret’s 14-7 last week when the game was suspended by weather with 17:49 to play. Thursday, the Warriors completed the upset, beating the defending section champion and OC No. 1 Tartans 19-13.

On March 5, Westlake broke an early 3-3 tie with a five-goal run and never looked back. The Warriors led 10-6 at halftime and surged out to a 14-7 lead in the opening minutes of the second half. Then the thunderstorm hit.

Westlake (5-0) was led by 13 goals combined from midfielders (6g) — three coming Thursday in the completion of the game — (5g) and (5g). , and scored one goal each.

Westlake is back at it Friday at home against Santa Margarita Catholic, ranked No. 4 in the OC girls lacrosse coaches poll. The Tartans (2-1) travel Saturday to take on No. 11 Newport Harbor.
