Seniors Harrison Mac (pictured) and Nate Mohler each scored five goals, and junior Sean Smith scored four, lifting the No. 1-ranked Loyola Cubs to a 15-8 over host Crespi, ranked No. 7 in the latest coaches poll.
Crespi was within two late in the third quarter, trailing 8-6 after an Alex Dixon goal, but Loyola closed the quarter with two more goals, then quickly opened a comfortable, 12-6 margin with nine minutes left in the fourth.
Sophomore goalie Joe Theuer was a big reason Loyola (7-0) was in position to score 15 goals. Theuer turned away 19 Crespi shots on the night.
Senior attack Cameron Radenberg led Crespi (2-4) with four goals and two assists. Dixon and Sean Friedman each had two goals, and Jack Doyle had a goal and an assist. Goalie Nick Enos stopped 11 shots for the Celts.
Jonathan Partamian contributed a goal and three assists for the Cubs, and Mac had three assists to go with his five goals. Eleven of Loyola’s 15 goals were assisted.
