The Newbury Park girls lacrosse team has climbed to No. 8 in the MaxLaxLA coaches poll after three consecutive victories, highlighted by Saturday’s 10-2 win over visiting Agoura. All three of the Panthers’ victories have come by double-digit goals.

Freshman goalie Daniella Guyette saved six shots in posting a first-half shutout as Newbury (5-1) built a 7-0 halftime lead. Guyette finished with 12 saves in the game.

Junior midfielder Erin Duffy led the Panthers’ offensively with three goals and an assist while also winning 12 of 13 draws. Junior Cameron Millett had three goals and won five draws, and sophomore Emma Ing had two goals, an assist and collected five ground balls. Senior Grace Therriault rounded out the scoring with two goals.

The Panthers have home games this week against La Reina on Wednesday and No. 12 Oaks Christian on Friday before bracing for a trip to No. 3 Westlake on April 9. The Warriors are the only team to beat Newbury this season, winning 12-9 on March 22.
