Richie Meade, head coach of the newly formed Division I Lacrosse Program at Furman University, will once again be hosting the Wounded Warrior Project Lacrosse Camp at UCSB June 24 – 27, 2012. Coach Meade has 21 years of head coaching experience including 17 years at the United States Naval Academy. The Wounded Warrior Project coaching staff is perhaps the finest coaching staff Southern California will see this year. Joining Coach Meade will be Fred Acee (former head coach at the Air Force Academy), John Espey (former head coach at Stony Brook and current head coach of the Long Island Lizards), and Willie Scroggs (former coach at North Carolina and Johns Hopkins). This camp presents a rare opportunity for local players to not only learn from such an experienced coaching staff but also to get up close and personal recruiting exposure to a Division I coach.
The Wounded Warrior Project Camp is open to teams and individuals. Players from 2012 County Finalists San Clemente High School have been attending this camp for several years with their head coach Glen Miles. Coach Miles says “I have had the privilege of playing for and coaching with Coach Meade at the United States Naval Academy and I can tell you there are very few lacrosse minds with the style and knowledge of Coach Meade. As we have been with our teams at Victory and SCHS, you will be shocked by the degree of improvement you will see in your teams from Youth – HS after this camp. It is incredible and has been quite significant for us. As you can see on the flyer, the staff is second to none in the US.”
Coaches interested in bringing teams to the Wounded Warrior Lacrosse Project Camp should email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about the opportunity. Individuals can go to the Wounded Warrior Project Lacrosse website for more information.
