NCAA Update: February 19

Division 1 Men

16, 14:  (San Clemente ’14) scored a goal for .  (Coronado ’16) started at attack for the Terps but did not score.

15, Mt. St. Mary’s 13:  Jake Maclean ( ’16) had two groundballs for Towson.

Quinnipiac 12, Brown 11:  (Corona del Mar ’16) won three of four faceoffs for Brown.

Marquette 12, Jacksonville 11: ( ’16) and (Palos Verdes ’16) started at midfield for Marquette. Henkhaus scored one goal, Fazio dished out an assist. Josh Williamson (Redondo Union ’16). (Thousand Oaks ’16) started at attack for Jacksonville.

Ohio State 9, Hofstra 7: Jimmy Yanes (JSerra ’15) had a hat trick.  (JSerra ’14) caused a turnover. (JSerra ’14) was the third former Lion to see action for Hofstra.

Bellarmine 13, 9: (Corona del Mar ’16) scored a goal and Skylar Jiminez (Newbury Park ’16) picked up a groundball for Cleveland State. Kevin Fahey (Coronado ’15), ( ’16) and (Santa Margarita ’16) all helped to anchor the Bellarmine defense while recovering one groundball, two groundballs, and two groundballs, respectively.  (Cathedral Catholic ’15) caused a turnover.

Virginia 13, Drexel 8: (Corona del Mar ’17) caused a turnover and Jacob O’Donnell (Poway ’14) started at midfield for Drexel.

Navy 7, UMBC 5: (Valley Center ’15) had two groundballs and two caused turnovers and (Cathedral Catholic ’17) had a groundball for UMBC.

Providence 13, Bryant 8.  ( ’14) scored a goal for Bryant.

Duke 15, Denver 12: (Foothill ’15) scored a goal for Denver.

Division 1 Women

Denver 12, Louisville 5:  (Capistrano Valley ’14) scored a career-high four goals.

Cal 18, Mercer 8: Marissa Kubera ( ’17) scored a hat trick for Cal.

San Diego State 14, Arizona State 13: Grace McGinty (San Marcos ’16) and Morgan Taylor (Poway ’17) each scored a goal for SDSU.  Kylie Kroeger (Mission Bay ’17) had a goal and an assist for the Sun Devils.

Fresno State 15, Mercer 11: (Mater Dei ’17) scored two goals and (Corona del Mar ’17) tallied a goal and an assist.

Men’s Division 2

Westminster 22, 7: (Poway ’16) scored a goal and (Thousand Oaks ’17) had two assists for Westminster. Andrew Kofoed (Santa Margarita ’16) scored two score goals and (Fallbrook ’15) added one for NDNU.

Men’s Division 2

RIT 12, Ohio Wesleyan 7: Justin Smith (Coronado ’14) had five groundballs and (Coronado ’14) had three groundballs a caused turnover for OWU.

Southwestern 11, Piedmont 7: (Thousand Oaks ’17) led the Pirates with six points (5g, 1a).  (San Clemente ’13) scored a goal too.
