NCAA D-3 Men’s Preview: OC/CA Players

Three players from California–including one from Tesoro HS–will participate in the Division III Men’s Championship game on Sunday, May 27 at Foxboro, Mass. All three play for Salisbury State, which comes into the finals at 22-0 facing another undefeated team in SUNY Cortland (21-0).

-Freshman defenseman Knute Kraus played at Tesoro HS, and this year had 18 ground balls while dressing for all 22 games. At 6-4, 205, Kraus hails from Rancho Santa Margarita. He wears jersey No. 11.

-Senior Erik Krum played his high school lacrosse at Mira Costa HS. The Seagulls’ top goal-scorer with 66, he is third on the team in points with 89. His 10 extra-man goals are tops on the team. A first-team all-CAC player, Krum is 5-10, 190 pounds and wears jersey No. 35. He is from Manhattan Beach.

-Freshman James Burton played at Cardinal Newman and is from St. Helena, Calif. The 6-0, 175 middie scored 2 goals in limited action for the Gulls, playing in 10 games. His jersey number is 28.

SUNY Cortland has no players from California on its roster.
