The Mission Viejo Diablos picked up their 6th win of the season Tuesday night vs the Temecula Valley Golden Bears in a 13-8 victory.
Mission Viejo Jumped out to an early 5-1 lead half way through the first quarter but the Golden Bears would fought back to make it 5-3 at the end of the first. The Diablos slowed down in the second quarter and allowed Temecula Valley to continue to make gains as Mission Viejo went into the half up by only 1 goal, 6-5. In the second half the teams traded goals until the Diablos really buckled down and took control of the game scoring the final three goals of the contest to pull away and grab a much needed victory.
Mission Viejo had its most productive night of scoring this season with multiple players getting involved in the offense. Junior attackman Luke Taylor lead the way with four points on two goals and two assists while Evan Hunter (2g, 1a), Josh George (2g, 1a), Rome Innocenzi (4g, 2a), Nate Kuri (2g), Connor Weissman (1g), and Noah Miyake (1a) rounded out the scoring for the Diablos. Defensively junior standout defensemen Teddy Finley had another great night pair with Shawn Oddou up at LSM holding the Golden Bears leading scorer to zero goals and Senior goalie Alex Perez recording eight saves
