MCLA Rundown: Micah Willis, Ryan Chamberlin Make Honor Roll

Orange County players and teams continue to make news in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. Chapman (10-0) and Concordia (9-0) remain undefeated are ranked no. 1 in Division 1 and no. 2 in Division 2, respectively.  Cal State Fullerton is ranked no. 17 in Division 2 with an 8-2 record.  The Titans renew their annual rivalry with Concordia on Saturday.  The game will be played at Concordia at 1:00 pm.

In what has become a common occurrence, the OC has been well represented on the Under Armour Honor Roll each of the last two weeks:

  • Great Oak alum Ryan Chamberlain, won 18-of-20 draws on March 12 to help Colorado State defeat Cal-Berekeley 10-7.  Chamberlin also scored the game-winning goal for CSU late in the game.
  • Huntington Beach alum Micah Willis’ (pictured above) seven point game (4g, 3a) helped Cal State Fullerton knock off USD 14-8 on March 18.
  • Chapman goalie Gus Gradinger made 17 saves in a dramatic, 13-12 overtime victory against No. 3 Colorado on March 13, including two monster stops late in the extra frame.
  • Chapman sophomore Dylan Garner scored two goals and three assists on March 20 to help the No. 1 Panthers beat Stanford 9-8 and stayed undefeated.
