jserra_padresJSerra’s Mitch Kingsley is the MaxLaxOC Boys’ player of the week after leading his Lions to an appearance in Wednesday night’s South Division championship game against Foothill

Hofstra bound senior, Mitch brings a combination of skill and leadership to the field that only a few possess. While plenty of Lions have had sensational seasons, Mitch has excelled in the recent win or go home situations. Kingsley stepped up during the playoffs and tallied 11 goals and 6 assists for 17 points last week .  Kingsley tallied the winning goal against both St. Margaret’s in the quarterfinals and Corona Del Mar in the semi-finals.  In the CdM game, he alone scored 5 goals against a defense that was allowing less than 4 goals per game.

Kingsley will attempt to lead the Lions to their first ever OC Championship tomorrow night at Aliso Niguel HS. If you cannot make the game, watch it here LIVE at 7:30pm

Coach Kyle Harrison knows stats alone can’t quantify his impact on the Lion’s playoff run “Mitchell is the leader of this team on and off the field and I couldn’t be more proud of the young man he’s become. His performance in the playoffs has been what we’ve come to expect from him.

Whether it’s scoring, assisting, riding the ball back, or just initiating our offense and moving the ball, he’s able to do whatever the team needs him to do in order for us to be successful. He’s as complete of an attack man as I’ve ever coached, and I’m extremely proud of the year he’s had.”

-Congrats Mitch!
