Sean Waterman (6 goals, 5 assists) and Pete Hagen (5 goals, 2 assists) combined for 11 goals to lead Mater Dei to a 15-2 win over Northwood on Monday.  The Monarchs broke open a close game with a nine-goal second quarter deluge and then maintained control in the second quarter.
The Monarchs controlled possession and the carpet throughout, preventing the Timberwolves from counter attacking. Luke Belinsky was 13/9 at the dot.  Led by Waterman (8 groundballs) and Belinksy (5gb, 1a), the Monarchs cleaned up 40 groundballs.
Senior defenseman Marius Galuppo (2 caused turnovers, 3gb) was the main cog in a defense that allowed Northwood only 11 shots on target.  Goalie Nick Colignon stopped nine of those shots for a tidy 81.8 save percentage on the evening.
Brian Abrahmson (2g), Kyle Waterman (1g), and Samari Staten (1g) completed the Mater Dei scoring.
Chua and Reeves scored the two Northwood goals.
Mater Dei improves to 5-2 with the win and puts a three-game win streak on the line Thursday when they host JSerra at 5:30 pm.  The Timberwolves fall to 2-3 and get ready for a Pacific Coast League tilt against University on March 18.
