While most teams appear to be on spring break, it doesn’t mean there are a shortage of exciting girls lacrosse games this week. Here are the girls lacrosse games to watch for his week:
Mater Dei at Torrey Pines, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Overall, it’s a great Orange County vs. San Diego matchup.
Breakdown: The Monarchs picked up one of their biggest wins of the season last week, beating St. Margaret’s 12-11. The Monarchs currently are on a four-game winning streak.
The Falcons on the other hand have lost four straight having lost to St. Margaret’s (10-9), Poway (9-8), IMG Academy (16-7) and Valor Christian (16-11).
With Torrey Pines averaging 13.3 goals per game and Mater Dei 12.4, this should be a high-scoring affair. Keep an eye on goalie Lily Molkara of Mater Dei, who came up big against St. Margaret’s last week.
Newport Harbor at Santa Margarita, Tuesday at 6 p.m.
A pair of top 10 teams in Orange County going at it.
Breakdown: The No.4 Eagles look to build off of their recent win over Poway and rebound from their 19-5 loss to No.1 Foothill 19-15.
Santa Margarita has scored double digits in every game this season, so Newport Harbor goalie Willa Rath and her defense should be ready for a busy night. Offensively, Katelyn Murphy is the ringleader for the Eagles’ offense. Also keep an eye on Natalie Jacobson. Mariana Miller and Joelle Rothbard, who scored five and four goals, respectively, in a 16-9 loss against Foothill pack an offensive punch for the Sailor,
Corona Del Mar at Beckman, Friday at 4 p.m.
Two former Pacific Coast League team headed in different directions renew their rivalry.

The Patriots, who also play No.1 Foothill on Wednesday, enter the week on a four-game winning streak. The Sea Queens, on the other hand have struggled recently and have lost four straight games.
CdM hopes to build some momentum with No. 18 JSerra, No.2 Mater Dei, No.3 St.Margaret’s and No.4 Santa Margarita coming up.
No. 9 Beckman wants to solidify their top 10 position. An upset loss to CdM could spoil their plans.

A battle of two teams that have a combined record of 19-3.
Breakdown: The No.13 Golden Hawks (10-1) will have an opportunity to show that they are under-appreciated in the coaches poll by taking on Hennessey Evans and the No.5 Mustangs. A strong showing by El Dorado should help them out in next week’s poll.
