Mater Dei’s Nick Southron picked up where he left off as MaxLaxOC Player of the week. His 3 goals and 1 assist led the Monarchs to an 11–4 victory on Tuesday over the El Dorado High School Golden Hawks, and pushed the Monarchs’ record to 7-1. Caden Bevilacqua (4 goals), Jack Southron (3 and 1), Adam Soto (1 goal) and Jack Simonis (1 goal) contributed to the victory. Goalie Jack Irvin had 7 saves. Nick Bauer has been stepping up his game recently and had 4 take-aways and 8 ground balls in the defensive effort for the Monarchs.

The Golden Hawks were led by Alec Simpson with 2 goals and an assist, as Andrew Hubner and Kenny Sommer had 1 goal each. Dylan Kammer had 8 saves.

The surprising Monarchs (7-1) are now tied with Yorba Linda High School for the most wins in the Southern Section. The Monarchs host Woodbridge this Thursday, while El Dorado (1-6) has an important Century League battle with neighborhood rival Esperanza on Friday.
