Mater Dei Girls Shut Out Rosary and 3peat as Trinity League Champs

The Mater Dei Monarchs Girl’s lacrosse team ended the regular season Tuesday against Trinity league foe, Rosary High School.

The Monarchs and Royals squared off away at Rosary. Freshman Grace Houser of the Monarchs won the draw and quickly scored the first goal. Senior Erin Herndon scored the second goal and the Monarchs were off to the races.  It was 9-0 Monarchs by half with goalie Kenley Harrington getting the first half shut out for the Monarchs.  Goalie Breanna Barriga earned the Monarchs a second impressive shut out in the second half.The second half mirrored the first and the Monarchs went on to win 15-0.  The Monarchs ended up undefeated in Trinity League play and won the league for the third year in a row.  The Monarchs now await their seating for the playoffs and end the regular season with a #4 ranking in Southern California.
