On Sunday, February 24th the Mater Dei Boys Lacrosse team hosted the 4th Annual Wheelchair Lacrosse Game. Bill Lundstrom of Wheelchair Lacrosse USA and his fellow athletes showed their dominance against the Mater Dei varsity team for the fourth year in a row.
“These guys do everything you would expect from an experienced group of lacrosse players. They shoot extremely hard and accurate, they have great vision and stick skills, aren’t afraid to throw behind the backs, and they finish their hits, all while sitting in wheelchairs. It’s fun to watch and great for our boys to share the same love and passion for the game as those who play on two wheels instead of two feet,” said Mater Dei coach Johnny Rodriguez.
