Aliso Niguel senior Michael Marino has verbally committed to play NCAA Division 2 lacrosse at Colorado Mesa University. Marino dominated the faceoff X last season with a 75% (257/343) win percentage that ranked 30th nationally and 3rd in California according to MaxPreps. He also scooped up 184 groundballs last season, averaging nearly 11 gbs per game. That was good enough for first in the state and 11th nationally. Those impressive stats earned Marino a spot on the Sea View League First Team and Sea View League Player of the Year honors.

Wolverines’ head coach Patrick Jenkins had this to say about his hard working faceoff middie “We’re very excited about Michaels commitment to play at the next level. We’re proud of Michaels achievements as their a testament to the hard work he puts in every day. He is a true student of the game and loves the chess match at the face off x. By committing to Colorado-Mesa he becomes the ninth ANHS player to play lacrosse in college in the last three years and Michael and his classmates are a big part of our success over that time period. I look forward to watching Michael play but most of all, develop into an even more dangerous player.”
