I heard at Gait Cup from a former college assistant coach who now works as a recruiting advocate for a club team that FOGOs and goalies get five times the scholarship money that players at the other positions receive. The coach attributed this “bonus” to the importance of ball control and the difficulty of find good goalies who project to play well at the college level. I have not been able to confirm the coach’s claim but thought he was a reliable enough source to make this worth posting (hopefully I am not putting my Pulitzer Prize at risk).
