Loyola Simply Too Much For Palisades in 19-4 Win

Eleven different Loyola players scored goals Tuesday, leading the No. 2-seeded Cubs to an overwhelming 19-4 win over visiting No. 15-seed Palisades. For the Dolphins, who were coming off a double-overtime playoff win Monday, it was their seventh game in 12 days.

Junior Sean Smith (4g, 3a) and sophomore Garret Smith (3g, 4a) led the Loyola barrage, with sophomore Ryder Mora (2g, 2a), senior John Parducci (2g) and sophomore Tristan Frank also scoring multiple goals. Sophomore Jonathan Partamian, junior Max Neblina, junior J.P. Hatch, sophomore Dom Tragesar, sophomore Luke McKenna and sophomore Mason O’Hanlon also scored, and freshman Wes Priestley contributed an assist.

Sophomore goalie Joe Theuer made six saves and allowed one goal in one half of action for Loyola (15-3).

The Cubs led 7-0 after one quarter and 13-1 at halftime. Macchio Rissone scored the only first-half goal for Palisades (16-4). He scored again in the the third quarter, and Nate Galpern scored the Dolphins’ final goal.

Loyola plays host to Mission League rival and No. 7-seed Crespi (11-7) in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
