Loyola, Peninsula Move Up in Coaches Poll

There’s a new No. 1 for the second week in a row after Peninsula’s stunning overtime win Friday over Palos Verdes. No, it’s not the Panthers, though they did move up.

Loyola (12-2) received 10 first-place votes and reclaims the No. 1 spot in the US Lacrosse/MaxLaxLA coaches poll, with Palos Verdes (9-4) moving back to No. 2. The Sea Kings still were No. 1 on two of the 13 ballots cast. Peninsula (12-1), which received the lone remaining first-place vote, moves up from No. 4 to No. 3, bumping Westlake (10-0) back a spot, from 3 to 4.

Peninsula also received one vote for No. 2, along with five votes each for Nos. 3 and 4. Westlake also received a second-place vote, along with six votes for No. 3 and three each for Nos. 4 and 5.
