Los-Al-Thumb.jpegThe Lady Griffins have now taken down Colorado powerhouse Cherry Creek two years in a row, this year at home.

Los Alamitos Girls Varsity team (10-3) took the field against Cherry Creek V1 (3-3), the 2013 Colorado State Champion. When two top teams in the west play each other you know it will be a good game to the very end and that is exactly what this game proved to be!

Cherry Creek scored first but Los Alamitos answered back with three goals in a row.  Cherry Creek fought back to tie the score at 4-4. Then fans saw a one for one battle that had the score tied at 6-6 at halftime.

The Griffins resumed play in the second half fired up and took the lead, but Cherry Creek regrouped and tied the score at 9-9.   The Griffins took the lead again, which they maintained to the end of the second half of the game. Los Alamitos out scored Cherry Creek 6 goals to 5 goals in the second half to win which would be the difference in the game.  Los Al won by a final of 12-11!
