More good news from local players loving life in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. Austin Lickley (San Clemente High School) and James Murphy (Aliso Niguel High School) are continuing the strong tradition of OC lax players heading north to Boise State and playing well. Like junior Adam Smith (Tesor0 High School) Austin & James are proving to be difficult for defenses to contain during the Broncos fall season. BSU traveled south to play in the Cali Men’s Lacrosse Tournament hosted by UC-Davis last month. Lickley ripped the net for 4 goals over the weekend while Adam Smith was dominant with 7 goals and 6 assists. James also played well throughout the weekend and ended the trip with a hat trick against Diablo Valley Vikings.
Boise State’s program has been infused with energy from their new Head Coach Jon Mundy. A former Bronco lax player himself, Coach Mundy has been active coaching for the past several years and is committed to taking the Broncos to the next level. So far, it looks like the So Cal OC boys are looking to a big part of Coach Mundy’s plan for success. The Broncos compete in the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League against Washington, Washington, State, Oregon, Oregon State, Idaho, Montana, and Simon Fraser.
