The Mater Dei Girls’ Lacrosse squad was busy over its Easter break this past week. They faced top teams from San Diego and Los Angeles. On Thursday, the Monarchs fell to La Costa Canyon in San Diego. On Saturday, the Monarchs rebounded to defeat the Redondo Union Sea Hawks. The Sea Hawks have won the Bay league the last 4 years and entered the game 12-3. However, the Monarchs were more effective in all aspects of the game. The Monarchs lead 8-3 at half. The Sea Hawks battled back in the second half and played the Monarchs even but it was too late. The final score was 12-8, Mater Dei. Next week, the #4 ranked Monarchs return to the Trinity league to face Rosary and end the regular season against Tesoro.
