The two-time defending LA champion Redondo Union Sea Hawks, who return four first- or second-team All-Area players from last year’s title team, were unanimously voted No. 1 in the 2019 MaxLaxLA Preseason .

The Sea Hawks, who finished 18-3 last season after losing to St. Margaret’s in the Southern Section championship game, were listed No. 1 on all 11 ballots submitted.

The real intrigue, though, is who is No. 2?

LA runner-up Agoura received five second-place votes and officially is No. 2, but Palos Verdes was listed second on two ballots, and Westlake was No. 2 on three. Cate School, a two-time semifinalist, received one second-place nod.
