Former La Costa Canyon standout defenseman Kyle Mummau was recently recognized by the coaches of the Northeast Conference as a top player in the conference. The junior defenseman was one of six Bryant Bulldogs named to the pre-season All NEC.

The Bulldogs have been very much on the upswing since former Duke Head Coach Mike Pressler took over the helm, having claimed four consecutive NEC tournament titles.  They are favored to make it five in a row in 2016.

Mummau has been a central anchor for the defense since his freshman year.  One game in particular stands out when Mummau was a major part in Bryant’s upset of No. 1 Syracuse in 2014. Mummau was a starter in every game that year. This past season, Mummau earned first team All-NEC, despite only playing 10 games and enduring a season ending injury in April.

Mummau and the Bulldogs look to improve upon last season’s 8-10 record. Mummau is joined by fellow LCC alum Cameron Ziegler, who also had a stellar freshman year for the Bulldogs.
