OC Kings Headed to Las Vegas

The OC Kings will travel this weekend to play in the Las Vegas Adrenaline Tournament. Four different Kings Teams (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) will be representing the OC against some of the best club lacrosse teams in the west. Pool play on Saturday will decide seedings for Sunday’s playoff round.

The OC Kings 2018 team will be comprised of some very impressive freshman, some of whom may see varsity action this spring.  Players to watch include a trio representing Santa Margarita Catholic High School’s promising freshman class: midfielder Nick Parrino, midfielder Grant Telenko, and LSM Matt Ury, and Foothill’s freshman attackman Ellis Geis.  Geis, the younger brother of Gordon College defenseman Owenn Geis, is showing signs of being the heir apparent to Nate Marano.  The 2018 team will be playing in the Maverik High School Division, with games against Alpha Lacrosse (San Diego), the Utah Blackhawks, and 395 High School Orange (Temecula) at 7:00, 9:00, and 11:00 am Saturday morning.

The OC Kings 2017 team of sophomores is no less talented than the 2018 Kings.  Players to watch include the El Toro High School defensive duo of Tyler Collins and Blake Young, Newport Harbor High School twin middies Alex and Chandler Pearce, Northwood attackman Michael Bellas, Santa Margarita middie Shane Cobb, and CdM defenseman Jordan Pakzad.  Pakzad was very impressive at High Rollers in November, and should be a difference maker this weekend.  The 2017 team will be playing in the South Swell High School Division, with games against Jr. Black Rhinos (Portland, OR), Mustang Starz (British Columbia), and Force LC (Scottsdale, AZ) at 2:00, 4:00, and 6:00 pm Saturday.

OC Kings 2016 are one of two Elite teams that the Kings will bring to Vegas.  Players to watch include the Trabuco Hills High School goalie Nick Wilson, Newport Harbor defenseman Blake Lenk (who played some serious shutdown defense at High Rollers), JSerra middie Emerson Roth, and St. Margaret’s defenseman Nick Totah.   The 2016 team will be playing in the Gatorade Elite Division, with games against 395 HS Black (Temecula), Force LC Select Blue (Scottsdale, AZ), and Seattle Starz 2016 at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, and 3:00 pm Saturday.

The OC Kings 2015 team features a roster full of players to watch.  Expect Foothill defenseman Matt Marano and Santa Margarita defenseman Eric Rubak to really standout this weekend.  The 2015 team will be playing in the Gatorade Elite Division, with games against 395 HS Black (Temecula), Force LC Denver Elite, Zipit Elite (Las Vegas), and Vegas Starz Elite at 12:00, 2:00, and 5:00 pm Saturday.
