Jarrett Jones of Palos Verdes and Nate Marano of Foothill were named honorable mention on the inaugural American Family Insurance ALL-USA Preseason Boys Lacrosse Team, released Thursday.
Jones, a junior defender committed to Georgetown, and Marano, a senior attack who has signed with Denver, went head to head twice last year, including in the U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section title game. Foothill won both meetings.
They’ll get at least one more opportunity to face each other this season, when the Knights visit Palos Verdes on April 20. After that, maybe another meeting in the section title game? We’ll see.
Junior LSM Beau Botkiss of Torrey Pines, who is committed to Cornell, was the only other California player named to the extensive preseason list, also earning an honorable mention nod.
Oh, and four days after Marano takes on Jones and Palos Verdes? He and Foothill visit Botkiss and Torrey Pines (April 24). That’s quite a way to finish the regular season for the Knights.
Here is the complete list from USA Today.
