Esperanza High School junior Jacob Aho has been selected as MaxLaxOC.com’s Boys Lacrosse Player of the Week. This 5’11”, 175-lb attackman is in his third year of terrorizing Century League opponents, and shows no signs of slowing down. Aho has started on varsity since his freshman season, and has truly broken out of his shell in his junior campaign. Through only 8 games this season Aho has put up 44 Points (27 Goals, 17 Assists), which is 6th in California according to MaxPreps. Aho has led the Aztecs to a 5-3 start this season, and gives them their best chance in recent years to win the Century League.
Head Coach Deron Hansen could not be more pleased with Aho’s performance this year and relentless work ethic. “Aho is one of those players that you can truly build a program around. His work ethic and gritty determination pushes all of his teammates everyday in practice, and he truly leads by example. After years of being an All State Hockey player, Aho has that innate ability to always be in the right place at the right time, and he’s not afraid to do the dirty work. Off the field Jake is an honor roll student who finds time to volunteer for both his Church group and the Yorba Linda Lightning youth program. I look forward to seeing Jake finish his stellar career at Esperanza, and know he has what it takes to succeed at the next level both athletically and academically.”
Good luck this season Jake and congratulations!
