An equal mixture of unselfish offense and staunch defense was the recipe for Irvine High School’s season opening 6-2 win over Edison High School.  Wesley Kim (2 goals), David Trask (2 goals), Noah Miller (1 goal), and Andy Nguyen( 1 goal) lead the Vaqueros on the offensive end of the field.  Tucker Page (Sonoma State) played a solid all around game with 2 assists and 10 groundballs.  Grant Tingirides playing behind  strong defense from Ben Roznos, Hayden Castro and Luke Coleman turned away 22 Edison shots.
Next up:  Irvine (1-0) takes a week off before playing Sage Hill (0-0) on March 23.  Edison (2-4) travels to Beverly Hills on Monday to play BHHS (1-2).
