Coach Mike Messere, How To Develop High School Athletes

Host Fred Opie talks with one of the top high school coaches of all time, Mike Messere of West Genessee High School in upstate New York. They talk about the state of college recruiting, how he has placed his student athletes over the years, the importance of time; how expectation have changed since he built a culture of excellence in his hometown of Camillus New York starting back in the early 1970s. Messere and several of the players he has coached are in the National lacrosse . He explains his recipe for building a great program in any sport and shares his code of conduct and expectations for his players. In an extra coach Messere talks about some of the hardest hard-working players he has coached and the players who blossomed later in their careers as student athletes.
