Groeninger Leads All-County Boys Teams

St. Margaret’s junior Kevin Groeninger is the US Lacrosse Orange County boy’s lacrosse Player of the Year. Groeninger averaged nearly six points per game while racking up 127 points (64 goals, 63 assists) to lead the Tartans to their first county championship since 2015.  This year’s performance raised Groeninger’s career totals to 296 points (146g, 151a) with one year left to play before he graduates.

Servite coach Tom O’Leary was named Coach of the Year. O’Leary guided the Friars to the No.10 seed and an upset of No.7 San Clemente 9-8 in the first round of the playoffs.

has been named Orange County boys lacrosse coach of the year. Tintle helped head coach  lead the Titans to their best season in team history. The Titans advanced to the county semifinals, which is the farthest the Titans have ever gotten.

Michael Walsh of Santa Margarita received the Bob Scott Award. According to uslacrosse.org, “This award recognizes a player in each Area who goes above and beyond in service to his team, school, and community. This player exemplifies the fundamentals of lacrosse, works hard to improve his game and is a leader both on and off the field.”
