Great Oak Opens Season with 13-5 Victory over Chaparral

Great_OakThe No. 10 ranked Great Oak (Temecula) Wolfpack opened the 2014 season on Saturday with a 13-5 win over their cross town rivals, the Chaparral Pumas.

It was a solid team effort for the Wolfpack in which every player on the roster got on the field and contributed to the winning effort. Alexander Cunningham was the leading scorer in the game with 4 goals and 1 assist. , Dakota Campbell, Hunter Campbell, Hunter Burgett, and Ryan Chamberlain also notched points in the win. Defensively, goalie and LSM Anthony Caracciolo stood out for the Wolfpack.

Chaparral goalie Bryan Recinos was outstanding in the cage for the Pumas. Recinos stood on his head under the Great Oak offensive onslaught, and was solely responsible for keeping the Wolfpack from scoring in the mid 20s.

Great Oak travels to El Toro to take on the Chargers next Saturday. The Pumas travel to Rancho Bernado for a Tuesday evening game and host San Juan Hills on Saturday.
