High Point Welcomes Garrett

Garrett PeytonHigh Point University head coach Jon Torpey announced the addition of Peyton Garrett and 14 other players to the High Point University men’s lacrosse team for the 2015 season. Garrett has amassed 145 goals and 94 assists in his first three seasons at San Clemente. He is the two-time Offensive MVP in the South Coast League and was a 2013 Under Armour West All-American selection. Garrett and his new teammates will join HPU in the fall of 2014. The group includes four attackmen, six midfielders, four defensemen and one goalkeeper.

Orange County talent played a huge role in Divison 3 Whittier College’s upset of Division 2 Dominican University this week. Jonathon Kassity (San Clemente) scored 5 goals and Nathan Kleponis (Foothill) stopped stopped 11 shots for the Poets. Tommy Andrews (Tustin) also found the back of the net for Whittier. Dylan Acevedoscored a goal for Dominican. Whittier travels to Chicago, Ill. next week for three games where they will take on Aurora (April 4 @ 2:00pm), Ill. Wesleyan (April 5 @ 5:00pm), and Carthage (April 6 @ 11:00am).

Timothy Francis (Huntington Beach)had three goals and two ground balls when Carthage defeated Benedectine (Ill.) on March 26. Francis scored two more goals in losing effort to Adrian College on March 29.

Erik Adamson scored a goal for the Denver Pioneers in their 17-9 victory over Georgetown.

Josh Peterman (Foothill) scored a goal for Adams State in their 12-8 loss to Lindenwood University.
