Tuesday Games to Watch
No. 3 Jserra (7-3) at No. 17 Servite (4-7). Two teams looking to snap losing streaks. J Serra’s mid season slump looks more serious if they get upset by the Friars. Servite cooled off during Spring Break and now have the toughest part of their schedule ahead of them.
No.8 Aliso Niguel (7-4) at No. 20 Capo (3-6). With Tesoro coming up on Thursday, the Wolverines have to be careful not to look past Capo.
No. 18 Mater Dei (5-5) at No. 13 Huntington Beach (6-5). After beating higher ranked Servite and Great Oak over Spring Break, the Monarchs become playoff contenders if they can pull of the upset. With several Sunset league battles looming, the Oilers want to secure this W.
No. 6 San Clemente (4-6) at No. 9 Tesoro (3-8). Tesoro needs a win to stay in contention for the league championship.
Wednesday Games to Watch
No. 2 CDM (10-0) at La Costa Canyon (5-6). Don’t let their record fool you; La Costa is always tough.
No. 7 Trabuco Hills(10-1) at No. 3 St. Margaret’s (13-2). Trabuco’s strength of schedule is still hurting them in the polls. This is their opportunity to turn some doubters into believers.
Thursday Games to Watch
No. 5 SMCHS (8-3) at No. 1 Foothill (14-1). Will Foothill be battle-tested or weary in their first game after their east coast trip?
No. 18 Mater Dei (5-5) at No. 4 Jserra (7-3). Mater Dei’s playoff hopes brighten significantly if they can pull of the upset.
Poway (7-2) at No. 10 Great Oak (7-6). Poway may be the best team in San Diego right now. Great Oak does not want to see that losing streak to stretch to four.
No. 8 Aliso (7-4) at No. 9 Tesoro (3-8). Depending on how Tesoro does against San Clemente on Tuesday, they will be playing the role of either contender or spoiler in this one.
Friday Games to Watch
No. 13 Huntington Beach (6-5) at No. 11 Los Alamitos (5-6). Somebody is going to have two Sunset League losses when this game is over.
Harvard-Westlake (6-4) at No. 3 St. Margaret’s (13-2). The two 2013 Southern Section finalists went to triple overtime in regular season play last year.
No. 6 San Clemente (4-6) at No. 7 Trabuco Hills (10-1). Why is 10-1 Trabuco Hills ranked behind 4-6 San Clemente? Maybe because The Mustangs are 0-1 against the Tritons. This is Trabuco’s second opportunity this week to hush the doubters.
Saturday Games to Watch
No. 14 El Toro (6-4) at No. 2 CDM (10-0). It is the Chargers’ turn to see if they can score more than 1.5 goals against the Sea Kings. We can be pretty sure that they won’t score exactly 1.5 goals.
No. 5 SMCHS (8-3) at No. 18 Mater Dei (5-5). This game has playoff implications if Mater Dei wins on Tuesday.
