G3 Lacrosse is offering two “Goalie Shooter Challenge” events this weekend, one in Los Angeles and one in San Diego, both featuring coaching and instruction from elite players and coaches: Tom Schreiber (Princeton, Ohio Machine, Team USA), Drew Snider (Maryland, Denver Outlaws, Team USA) and Adam Ghitelman (Virginia, Atlanta Blaze, USC Head Coach).
The Goalie Shooter Challenge events are open to boys in fifth grade through high school and will take place Friday, Feb. 19, at Mira Costa High School (5-7:30 p.m.) and Sunday, Feb. 21, at Torrey Pines High School (5-8 p.m.).
The Challenge offers a full-length program to develop both positional skill work and competitive drive for both the offensive and goaltending positions. Offensive players will receive instruction on shooting, stick-work, lax IQ and field play and have an open-ended Q&A session with their elite coaches. Goaltenders will work on footwork, hand-eye, stick-work, saving technique and play outside the goal.
The final piece of the program will bring offensive skills and goaltending together in a competitive format with live, controlled repetitions for both sides of the ball.
