Foothill Wins Tenth In a Row

Foothill LogoFoothill High’s rush toward the playoffs hit some speed bumps Wednesday, but not many, as the Knights shook off a rough second quarter to beat , 17-7, at Tustin Sports Park.  Foothill (15-1) showcased its impressive bench depth in this game, and sent a message that Coach Foxed is blessed with plenty of young talent ready continue the Foothill tradition for the foreseeable future.  Backup faceoff specialist, sophomore , was one of the game’s standouts, winning 9 of 10 faceoffs. Reigning Player of the Week, sophomore goalie , stopped 13 shots in the first half. And 11 players scored at least one goal as Coach emptied his bench, without much of a drop-off in skill.

, 6-10, took advantage of a three-minute penalty to cut a 6-0 deficit in half in the second quarter. But the game wasn’t close after that.  Attack (), coming off an eight-goal game last week, had three goals and a team-high four assists. Attack (Holy Cross) also had three goals. Senior attack , who has been steady all year, added two goals and three assists. Middie , another season-long standout, scored twice.  Seven other Knights had a goal apiece.

Rancho Bernardo’s Jacob Maldonado and Hunter So had three goals each. Tucker Reed added a score.
