Foothill defeated Los Alamitos 13-8 on Tuesday night to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Knights were led by the sophomore duo of Andrew Cumming (5 goals) and Troy Hofer (4 goals, 1 assist).
Los Al was able to keep the game close through three quarters, trailing 6-4 at the half and 9-6 after three quarters. However, a swarming Foothill defense that picked up 39 groundballs and caused 14 turnovers finally wore the Griffins down and allowed the Knights to create a more comfortable gap in the final 12 minutes.
Despite the relentless defensive pressure, Los Al continued to find opportunities, only to be frustrated by saves like this from freshman goalie Joey Garcia:

Josh Anderson and Jake Caress led the cleanup crew with five groundballs each. Anderson and Caden Salkeld ended the game with three CTOs each. Miles Smart and Michael Logan teamed up to win 75% of the faceoffs.
Josh Fox (2 goals, 2 assists), Easton Babb, and Grant Roess rounded out the Foothill scoring.
Up next for Foothill is a Saturday home game against Thousand Oaks. Los Al opens Sunset League play with a game at Edison on Saturday.
