The second wave of invites for the 2019 Adrenaline All-American game were announced earlier this week, and the list of San Diego boys continues to grow.
The five boys currently invited to participate in the prestigious annual event include:
- JJ Sillstrop – Attack – La Costa Canyon High School
- Colin O’Connor – Defense – La Costa Canyon High School
- Michael Mines – Midfield – Torrey Pines High School
- Marco Napolitano – Defense – Torrey Pines High School
- Oscar Hertz – Defense – The Bishop’s School
Sillstrop, who is committed to the University of Denver, scored 69 goals, dished 20 assists and recorded 42 ground balls during his junior season. Meanwhile, on the defensive side for La Costa Canyon, O’Connor, a Towson commit, recorded 170 ground balls, forced 123 turnovers and scored five goals during the 2018 season.
Mines (Maryland) and Napolitano (Notre Dame) helped lead the Falcons to an 18-1 overall record, a top-15 national rank and the school’s first CIF open division championship since 2013, this last spring.
Brown-bound Oscar Hertz, a senior at the Bishop’s School rounds out the quintet of San Diegans selected to participate in the AAA game thus far. Hertz anchored the Knights’ defense during his junior season, leading his team to a 12-5 record and a spot in the CIF open division playoffs.
The 2019 Adrenaline All-American game will take place on Saturday, June 15th at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
