El Toro Climbs into Top 10 in Boys’ Lacrosse Poll

El Toro High School’s six-game winning streak has been impressive enough to move them into the Top 10 for the first time this season. The 9-3 Chargers have not lost since March 17 and have outscored the opposition 90-13 in that stretch, good enough for the no. 10 position.

Further up the ladder Corona del Mar earned a Simaan-like 30 out of 30 first place votes to hold their spot at the top of the totem pole.  Foothill, St. Margaret’s, Santa Margarita, and Great Oak rounded out the top 5.

Some of the other noteworthy changes:

  • CIF-newcomer Santiago is firmly on the bubble.  The 10-2 Sharks check in at no. 17 after defeating Scripps Ranch last week;
  • Servite beat both JSerra and Beckman last week but could not pass them in the polls,  The Friars move up one spot to no. 14 right behind no. 12 JSerra and no. 13 Beckman;
  • As if the Titans and Tritons needed any more motivation before Friday night’s game, San Clemente passed Tesoro for the no. 6 ranking.  Tesoro is now no. 7.  There will also be a South Coast League title on the line when the two get together on Friday. ;

The rankings are provided below.
