Devo’s Dazzlers from the TITANium Classic

Big ballers were out today in OC as this week.  Caught plenty of action.

Today Teran Rodriguez was on it at Tesoro and I had a few extra thoughts and some backstory as well as committed players insight.

Double header today was great event.  Game one was College Park (The Woodlands, TX) vs Tesoro.  CP Head Coach Tintle runs a great program out of the lone star state.  His nephew is OC’s own Nick Tintle who was big timer at UNC and now is playing in PLL. Nick used to coach at Tesoro, one of the best guys in OC as far as lax’ers go.  If you catch him at a clinic pay attention youngsters….

The Tesoro goalies were excellent again.  Lucas Zalaya made big stops this week vs Santiago as well.  He was a factor again on Saturday.

College Park FOGO Grant Isika did not lose a face off all day, 15 for 15.  The 2021 was lights out. He’ll head to D1 Drexel upon graduating.  He won it out in front, went back with the ball and flipped it to wings.  I hven’t seen a 100% since Jason Simaan went 17/17 for Corona del Mar in 2016 vs Brophy Prep.  Jason in now at Brown.

Speaking of Brown FOGO’s, Teagan Boltman was dominant for Torrey Pines today. The Brown commit went beast mode in the 2nd game against Loyola. Had to be 90%. Big boy is looking yoked and ready to roll in 2020.  Also for TP Dewey Egan once again is a freak. I lost count how many he had.  5 in first half best guess. UNC commit is a bigtimer.  Also for Torrey Pines Laguna Beach native Bobby Gavin was once again sensational.  15 saves vs 4 goals with some legit shooters! He’ll head to UVA after HS graduation. He made some monster saves.  Just keeps getting better.

Loyola had some talent as well. On offense Owen Gaffney was excellent, he’ll head to Harvard to play for Gerry Byrne the new head coach for The Crimson.  Alex Horwitz has had a great career at attack for Loyola. He’ll head to Wesleyan after his senior year, excellent player, was one of the best on the field today. Shane McAusland, we wrote about this fall, he was very good today on close D for a young Loyola squad, he’s asenior and will head to Tufts after 2020 season.

Jake Tom 2023 lefty pole got on for Loyola today. Big jump in speed of play and talent and the youngster did well.  He had tough slide on Boltman and a nice GB.  He got a start on the NorCal trip for Loyola due to some injuries and did well, one to watch.

Other games this week, St Margret’s 2022 class is legit.  Young team faced excellent Faith Lutheran team Thurs.  Might take some time to jell but they have some legit players in that class.  Matt Groeninger was very good, Makai Todd is just a nasty split dodger, and Will Stahl scored lefty and righty at midfield, too many to name them all.
